Non-Woven Bags

Non-woven bags are useful for carrying documents, promotional items and other small objects in business and organisational settings. Non-woven material is made by bonding fibres rather than by conventional weaving, so the bag's specific construction also matters when choosing a model.

Before deciding, compare dimensions, base shape, handles and the surface available for branding. This category includes a bag explicitly described as laminated alongside other models; the material name alone does not tell you how much weight an individual bag can carry.

How to choose a non-woven bag

Match dimensions and construction to the contents

Start by measuring the widest item you intend to carry and consider whether the bag needs to hold several items at once. Width and height are particularly important for documents and catalogues, while boxes or bulkier gifts also require sufficient base depth. Check handle length depending on whether the bag will be carried by hand or over the shoulder. Compare the expected weight with the specifications of the individual model: carrying capacity depends not only on the material but also on the joins and handles.

Non-woven surface or lamination?

Current examples include STRATFORD, described as a non-woven bag, and MILLENIA, described as a laminated non-woven bag. Lamination adds a surface layer that may change the feel, appearance and way artwork can be applied. Check the selected model to establish whether its finish is matt or glossy and which printing methods are suitable. Lamination alone does not guarantee waterproofing or a higher carrying capacity.

Branding and alternative bag types

Positioning a logo on a suitable surface

When planning a print, consider the artwork, number of colours, desired size and position. Seams, edges and handles can restrict the usable area, while fine design details require particular care. Gajcom selects a suitable personalisation method according to the product, material, artwork, quantity and desired appearance. The same print therefore cannot be assumed to work on every model.

When should you choose another type of bag?

If you want a cotton material, compare promotional cotton bags; if compact storage of the empty bag is your main priority, explore foldable bags. These are different criteria: the material does not determine whether a bag is foldable, and the word “foldable” does not identify its composition. For models simply named “bag”, check the product details for material and construction.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose a bag size for catalogues or folders?

Compare the width and height of your largest document with the bag's dimensions. If you need to carry several catalogues or a thick folder, allow for sufficient depth as well. The contents should be easy to insert and remove without bending their edges excessively.

Is a laminated non-woven bag waterproof?

Not necessarily. An added surface layer may affect how the bag responds to moisture, but seams, edges and the opening matter too. For use in wet conditions, check the properties of the specific model.

Can a logo be printed on the bags?

Personalisation is possible on suitable products, but the method depends on the material, design, placement and quantity. To assess suitability, provide your logo and specify the desired size and branding position.

What information should I include in an enquiry?

Useful details include the selected model or intended use, expected quantity, dimensions of the contents and any artwork. This makes it possible to assess the bag and the feasibility of branding. Details of a personalised order are agreed in the quotation or order confirmation.
